Receive Payments

Offer payment options that will work for the potential buyers you're trying to attract. Review the international capabilities of your preferred payment methods so that you can highlight their benefits, and add new payment options if your preferred payment methods aren't available internationally.

PayPal's Global Presence

International buyers prefer PayPal for fast, reliable, and secure credit card or bank account payments online. PayPal can also help you as a seller: items selling worldwide and purchased with PayPal receive 16% higher final selling prices, on average!*

To facilitate international transactions, PayPal has been aggressively expanding its global reach and the currencies in which users can complete sales. You can choose which currencies you're willing to accept-including U.S. dollars, Canadian dollars, euros, pounds sterling, yen, and Australian dollars-and how you would like to accept them. Click here for a list of all currencies accepted by PayPal.

Accepting or Blocking Payments

You may set up your Payment Receiving Preferences to indicate how you would like to handle incoming payments. When a buyer sends a payment in a currency you hold, the funds will automatically appear in your account in the balance of the given currency. When a buyer sends a payment in a currency you do not hold, you will be asked to accept or block the payment with one of the following options:

  • Accept and open a new currency balance
  • Accept and convert it to your primary currency
  • Block the payment

Fees will be assessed by PayPal in the currency in which the funds were sent. Payments converted to your primary currency will be converted at a competitive exchange rate.

Dispute Resolution Services

If a transaction is not completed according to the agreement on your item page, it is critical that you communicate with the buyer via email to understand the basis of the disagreement. Always attempt to resolve any issues and complete the transaction before taking any action through eBay. If this approach is not successful, dispute resolution services are available in the Dispute Console of My eBay. Visit the eBay Security & Resolution Center for more information.
