About eBay
eBay is the World's Online Marketplace, enabling international trade for buyers around the world. Great deals are everywhere on eBay. Whether you want to buy something at a fixed-price, or take part in an auction-style listing to win that perfect item, it's easy to get started.
It all starts with Registration. Fortunately, it's free and fast. When you register as an eBay member you can bid on and purchase items from all over the world. During the registration process, we'll ask for your contact information and email address. However, we won't share your personal information without your consent.
Welcome to eBay International Market
This site is designed to help buyers from around the world connect with eBay's global community of sellers and browse the millions of new, used and rare items that are available. Our goal is to provide international buyers with language tools and other custom features to make shopping for imports convenient, safe and fun.
To get started, follow these easy steps:
| Step 1: |
Register
Registration is free and simple. Register now, or if you're a member, please Sign In. |
| Step 2: |
Find items
You can find items by searching. To search, enter a few words to describe the item in the Search box, which is found at the top of most pages. You can use very specific search terms to find a specific item, or search based on brand or product type to see a broader set of items. |
| Step 3: |
Consider buying formats
There are 2 ways to buy items on eBay. Some sellers use auction-style listings where items are listed for sale to the highest bidder, and others use Buy It Now, which enables you to buy an item when you want it, at a fixed or set price. |
| Step 4: |
Consider payment methods
How you pay for items you buy on eBay depends on the payment options offered by the seller. Before you bid or buy, read the item description carefully to learn what kinds of payments the seller accepts. PayPal is the preferred payment method for most eBay buyers and sellers, especially when it comes to international purchases. It lets you send payments securely online using a credit card or bank account without revealing your personal information. |
| Step 5: |
Use My eBay (optional)
My eBay enables you to track all of your eBay buying activities - including bidding, watching, items won, and Feedback from one page. Once you've registered, you'll have your own My eBay page. Here you can watch what's happening with items you've already bought and items you're interested in. |
Safe Trading Tips for International Buyers:
Here are some things to keep in mind as you purchase from an international seller:
Communicating with sellers: When you communicate with the seller, remember that he/she may not speak your language. You might want to use translation software to translate key phrases. Free online translation services, like Babel Fish or Google Language Tools, aren't 100% accurate, so try to use simple, grammatically correct phrases to increase the chances of ensuring your translation is understandable.
Shipping costs & times: Don't forget that your package is being shipped from overseas, and may need to spend time in transit for custom checks. You might like to check with the seller on how long it would take to ship to your country before buying. Also, the longer distance and additional fees for customs, taxes, etc will generally mean that the total costs are slightly higher for an international shipment.
Customs: It is important to be aware of what customs charges may apply for your country and product before you bid on or purchase an item.
